Today I went on a tour of Meyer Sound Labs in Berkeley as part of the SF Bay Pro Audio Freelancer’s Meetup Group.
Really Awesome tour. It was clear that every employee, from the groundskeepers up through the assembly crew to the QA engineers up through management shares John and Helen Meyer’s company philosophies, and everyone seemed to genuinely care about the products they made possible. The assembly workers stopped and showed us what they were doing, the tour guides let us poke and prod real production hardware as it was put together, and all in all everyone showed us a great time.
One of the best tours I’ve been on. If only it was like the Jelly Belly tour and we got some free product at the end :P (I got a cool Meyer sound Hat, tee, and emblazoned Sharpie, so I can’t complain).
