Loser AND winner in ultra-dark “Yogi Bear” parody case? Warner Bros.
Credit where credit’s due: Warner Bros. could’ve totally ripped apart Edmund Earle for creating this spot-on (and very dark) parody of the much-derided “Yogi Bear” film that’s coming out this week. But instead, the company’s letting Earle keep it up. There might be some back-end benefit for the Warners, anyway – the parody (which looks like the “Yogi Bear” film, almost too closely) riffs on “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” That film, an Oscar-nominated flick from 2007, only made back half of its budget, so it could stand to benefit from the fresh notoriety. And guess who distributed that flick? That’s right. Warner Bros. source

The scariest expression, ever: ”Spain’s bullfighter Juan Jose Padilla is seen after a bullfight was cancelled due to the bad weather, in Brihuega, Spain, Saturday, April 14, 2012.” Someone please make this photo a meme. (Photo by Daniel Ochoa de Olza/AP)
How about we don’t turn this into a meme how about instead we just look at this man’s awesome face.
Yes that sounds good.
meme’s are the lowest form of comedy on the internet.
this man’s face, however….
We mean, seriously. This is not like a life or death thing. Heh.

In case you missed it: Pete Hoekstra’s racist Super Bowl ad
“We take your jobs”: We’re a couple days behind on this one (though, admittedly, hannahhorvath did tip us off), but seriously, how about this patently racist ad that aired during the Super Bowl in some markets? It hinges on a particular brand of racial paranoia (the woman in this ad is American, and has absorbed a lot of heat for taking part), itself born from a profound economic paranoia. And it gets worse — apparently the microsite for the video had some perceived-racist source code in it. Reaction to the ad has been strong. What do you think? source
